Reinventing recruitment for oncology trials
Patient recruitment in oncology was broken
Despite advanced targeting and increased patient awareness, recruitment in oncology trials continues to lag behind expectations. Our research shows why and more importantly, what we can do about it.
Direct-to-Patient approaches: Engagement without conversion
Yes, oncology patients are actively looking for new options. Yes, they engage with educational content and trial finders.
But here’s the problem: they don’t register for trials.
Direct-to-HCP approaches: Limited impact where it matters
Treating oncologists (e.g. in tumor boards) are key decision-makers but they’re not engaging deeply with trials. Why?
- Their focus remains on standard-of-care and proven treatments.
- Oncologists face time and resource constraints to review trial options.
- There’s no financial incentive to refer patients, especially in first-line settings.
- Referrals can mean lost revenue if the patient’s care shifts away from the current practice.
The result? Clinical trials often aren’t even part of the conversation when treatment paths are decided.
Our solution, OncoCONNECT
Drive conversion where decisions are made
We don’t just reach patients, we guide them through a journey of trust, clarity, and empowered decision-making, while simultaneously enabling their physicians to meaningfully participate.
Our strategy includes:
- Optimized patient pathways,
based on real interviews, that build trust and identify barriers early.
- A Reaching city-wide visibility
with oncology expertise who works with both the patient and their HCP.
- A targeted approach to connect HCPs and study sites/Principal Investigators, building confidence on both sides.
Activate local “boots on the ground”
What does this mean? It’s a team of local site and patient engagement professionals who are engaging with local HCPs providing them with insights and support about the initiative. Are you interested? Contact us and find out more.
